Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Berger Paints establish the framework for the company’s massive Odisha plant

Berger Paints, a distinguished entity in the realm of paints and coatings, intends to fortify its market presence through the announcement of a novel production facility in Odisha. The company’s strategic maneuver entails the establishment of a plant spanning 80 acres of land in Mouza Kalibeti, situated within the Khordha Tehsil district, Khordha, Odisha. This allocation of land, as part of the state’s endeavor to beckon industries to ‘Make In Odisha’ under the banner of ‘Join the Juggernaut,’ was facilitated by the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation. With an annual production capacity of around 4,10,000 KL/MT, the facility will primarily engage in the manufacture of paints, coatings, construction chemicals, and related intermediates.

The ceremonial inauguration of Berger’s manufacturing facility transpired on February 15, 2024. Hon’ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik officiated the event and partook in the groundbreaking ceremony alongside governmental dignitaries and Berger Paints officials. This collaborative endeavor underscores Berger’s dedication to propelling the region’s industrial expansion, aligning seamlessly with its unwavering commitment to technological innovation and sustainable business practices.

Accentuating the conducive business milieu in Odisha, the State’s Industrial Policy Resolution of 2022 ensures expeditious approvals, transparent clearances, and readily available industrial plots within chemical clusters. The state also guarantees essential infrastructure such as road connectivity and industrial-grade water and power supply, thereby fostering an environment conducive to the flourishing of manufacturing units.

Berger Paints anticipates injecting Rs. 1,460 crores into this endeavor, thereby generating significant employment opportunities. The company underscores its pledge to environmental sustainability and manufacturing ingenuity, with plans underway to establish an environmentally conscious facility within the designated land.

As construction commences, Berger Paints’ decision to erect a colossal factory in Odisha signifies a strategic foresight and confidence in the state’s potential. This strategic move positions Berger as a pivotal entity in the regional industrial panorama, showcasing collaborative endeavors between the government and private enterprises aimed at fostering economic growth. The inception of this monumental factory heralds a new epoch for Berger Paints in Odisha, cementing its dominance in the paints and coatings domain.
