ClearMeat Partners with NIFTEM-K to Advance Cultivated Meat Innovation in India

India’s pioneering cultivated meat company, ClearMeat, has announced a strategic collaboration with the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Kundli (NIFTEM-K). This partnership aims to accelerate innovation in the biotech and food technology sectors, focusing on the development and scalability of cultivated meat products

The collaboration was initiated following a productive meeting between ClearMeat and NIFTEM-K’s Director, Dr. Harinder Singh Oberoi, at the institute’s headquarters. ClearMeat expressed gratitude for Dr. Oberoi’s support, stating, “We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Oberoi for his unwavering trust in our brand and his commitment to standing in solidarity with our mission to revolutionize the cultivated meat sector.”

ClearMeat is known for developing cultivated chicken products, including steak and keema, along with ClearX9™, a serum-free cell growth medium designed to eliminate the need for fetal bovine serum. This innovation addresses ethical concerns and aims to reduce production costs, making cultivated meat more accessible

NIFTEM-K, operating under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, serves as a center of excellence in food science and technology. The institute supports research and education in the food processing sector, fostering collaborations that drive technological advancements.

This partnership underscores a shared vision for a sustainable and technologically advanced food future in India. As the country works towards establishing a regulatory framework for cultivated foods, collaborations like this are pivotal in positioning India as a leader in the global alternative protein landscape.
